SSRS Report Server Settings Validation Error- AX 2012 R3 CU8

I’m trying to validate  report server setup of a client and got the error below
Make sure that SQL Server Reporting Services is configured correctly. Verify the Web Service URL and Report Manager URL configuration in the SQL Reporting Services Configuration Manager.

In reporting services report manager site, i have already granted the AX-Admins AD group as System Administrator under site settings, Home folder settings and DynamicsAX folder with “Browser, Content Manager, DynamicsAXBrowser, My Reports, Publisher, Report Builder” roles.

AX-Admins AD group is also member of administrators in windows. UAC had already been disabled. What did i miss?

Solution:

After some troubleshooting, it turns out UAC was not turned off. I am running on MS Windows 8.1.

UAC has to be turned off via registry by changing the DWORD “EnableLUA” from 1 to 0 in “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system”.

You will get a notification that a reboot is required. After the reboot, UAC is disabled.

After UAC is disabled, the issue is resolved.

SSRS Report in R3 – VS 2012 vs. VS 2010

Problem:
In Microsoft Dynamics AX  2012 R3 CU8 environment, when I tried to to edit a report,  I received the following message

AOT > Visual Studio Projects > Select a project > Right Click > Edit

Notice that VS 2010 is still being used as a default one.

Solution:
Dynamics AX 2012 R3 still needs to integrate with Visual Studio 2010 and therefore you have to have BIDS (Business Intelligence Development Studio). You can use a SQL Server 2008 R2 or SQL Server 2010 SP2 installation image to install it (it’s one of the components you can select during installation of “A new standalone server or additional components” on the client machine.

Please follow below link for more details to get rid of this issue and add feature SSRS reporting services without report server configuration an existing SQL installation.

Concatenate Two String Fields and Static Text-SSRS

This is my first SQL Server Reporting Services(SSRS) Report I have customized in Dynamics Ax.this report already contains 5  Data Sets in existing report and my requirement is given below:

Excise Charged at Notified rate of duty as per S.No 1 Notification No 34987/DL/CY dated the 04/01/2007

Excise Charged at Notified rate of duty as per S.No 2 Notification No 78987/DL/RT date the  06/02/2007

Excise Charged at Notified rate of duty as per S.No 3 Notification No 94587/DL/DK dated the 07/07/2007

As per requirement I have to display the static content with table fields. So I created a new table with Three fields  are Notification Serial Number,Notification Number and Notification Date and written get and set method in existing RDP class.

How to concatenate static text and table field:

At the beginning of expression I will put static text and I will concatenate it with empty space using + ” ” the trick is to use + and if we use hard coded string we need to enlose it using double quotes ” “. Next I will put + to concatenate my empty space with Notification Serial  Number field.See below final expression.

= “Excise Charged at Notified rate of duty as per S.No”+” “+Fields!NotificationSerialNumber.Value+” “+”Notification No
Concatinate Static Text and table field

this will display the result like this

Excise Charged at Notified rate of duty as per S.No 1 Notification No

NOTE: If you will try to add second table field in this using +” “+ it will display junk data on the  report.so to achieve follow below expression :

= “Excise Charged at Notified rate of duty as per S.No”+” “+Fields!NotificationSerialNumber.Value+” “+”Notification No” & ” ” & Fields!NotificationNumber.Value+” “+”dated the” &” “& Fields!NotificationDate.Value

Now it will display the report like this

Excise Charged at Notified rate of duty as per S.No 1 Notification No 34987/DL/CY Notification Date 04/01/2007

Excise Charged at Notified rate of duty as per S.No 2 Notification No 78987/DL/RT Notification Date 06/02/2007

Excise Charged at Notified rate of duty as per S.No 3 Notification No 94587/DL/DK Notification Date 07/07/2007

The Report Server Configuration ID could not be found in the SRSServers table

When attempting to run a report in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 you might run into an error that says ‘

‘The default Report Server Configuration ID could not be found in the SRSServers table.’

If you are faced with this error, try to go to System administration> Setup> Business intelligence> Reporting services> Report servers> change server name to <Server Name>(here Dynamics Ax 2012) as well as ensure that your Report Manager URL, Web service URL and Application Object Server information reflect this server as highlighted on the screenshot:

After this go to AOT> SSRS reports> Reports> find your report> right click> Deploy element and see then if you are not able to successfully launch the report
